Amusing all-chat in AB
So, last night some guildmates and I were merrily romping through the Alliance Battles (the Luxons were having a bad night, apparently, we didn't face a team that could hold more than 3 shrines or get above 200 points before we won, six battles in a row.)
In one of the battles, combatants on both sides were treated to this exchange (names changed to protect the guilty):
Whining Loser: Cowards! 3v1 and u had a monk! why dont u fight 1v1
Luxons: It's a team game, dude.
Kurzicks: Yeah. Seriously.
*Whining Loser respawns, chases a loner who kites him into a group of their team mates, is pwned*
Whining Loser: 4v1 this time why u not do loyal 1v1 u cheater
Everybody: Because this is *allllllllliiiiiaaaaannnce* battles, and we fight with our *teeeeeaaaaaam.*
Whining Loser has left the game.
Sadly, I must report that Whining Loser was Kurzick aligned. *facepalm*

:Sigh:
I don't know what it was, but we (luxons) couldn't even win a coin toss last night!
I always think it's funny when people start debating 'the plan' on team chat. It never ceases to amaze me how 12 different people can come up with 13 opinions about how to win.
Team member A: We need to spread out!
Team member B: Someone cap the Elementalist shrine.
Team member C: I'm attacking <insert dirty kurzick dog name here>
Team member D: Stay away from the ele Shrine!
Team member E: I can't heal you all, bunch up!
Team member A: Yea bunch up!
Team member C (Warrior): I have backfire on me! Remove it Quick!
Me: -_-

Yup, keeping 'all' chat on in Alliance Battles is a good way to put yourself in a coma.

Strange. All the good Kurzicks must've signed off around 9:30pst and took their wins with them. We (luxons) won 6 or 7 in a row and pushed it back to Saltspray. Gonna have to sign on earlier I guess for some competition (and some more interesting banter apparently).

Actually I was on late - I went to bed about 3:30 AM CST after our little win streak.

Its sad, but you'll find, the good players come out when the map swings for the map that advantages which ever side.
Saltspray is normally a easy Kurzick win. Whereas Enternan is biased towards Luxons. I realise that Saltspray should be the middle map, (prolly just means Kurzicks are better =P) The player base adjusts accordingly.

I'm not sure I understand your point. Are you saying the good players hold off until they have a map to their advantage? Or that they aren't good players after all, it's just the map?
For reference, 4 of the 6 wins in our streak were Kurzick victories at Eternan Keys.

Yeah, I can attest, I often gather up a team when the map is Saltspray as we are almost guaranteed 750 faction gain. Etnaran Keys only when someone is very enthusiastic about AB.

I really want to know why all the "1v1 m3 n00b" idiots won't just go back to Diablo 2 where they came from. There is actually some sort of a tolerance/purpose for that in D2, but in Guild Wars it's just stupid.
Guild Wars is a TEAM GAME. If you don't want to play in a team, you don't want to play Guild Wars, even though in your sad, underdeveloped mind you may think that you do.

A mesmer was jubilant for backfiring my pvp warrior because he thought I could no longer use shock without dying.
I decided to humor him, and cut off his taunts with bulls strike + evisc combo kill. Was still funny

I still get these at least once a night:
Player: Is this a capping group?
Me: What else would it be?
Player leaves...
Anyways, I seem to have more fun on the Saltspray map (as a luxon) due to the fact that it's harder. Maybe others think differently and that's why they all leave when it changes to that map. Who knows. Sure would like to see some of those other maps though. Seems like a waste of good programming (or not - I wouldn't know) when no one ever reaches those maps. Maybe they could lower the win rate a bit so that the maps switch more easily. Hell, I'd throw some free wins to the other side just to see Kanaaki Cliffs for once...

My personal favorite is telling the team to defend the base defenders so the Luxons cant get in. It both scares and amuses me the amount of people who take me seriously and call me a noob, or take me seriously and actually camp the base. Or perhaps they were afk leechers...

Before the update where you could degen the defenders to death, I had much fun farming points from AFKers. Kill, spawn, kill, spawn etc. and you could net yourself quite a few points... not to mention that you could really harrass the other team when they spawned.
Ah, the good old days.

Sweet, got to play on Frontier last night. Not sure how us Luxons pulled off enough wins to get there, but whatever. Getting our asses handed to us on a Kurzick map for once was great (no sarcasm).

Me and three friends decided to "mess around" in ab, well it was only a mess around as it was out 1st attempt basically tryin to work out how it all worked, i took a crit barrage 'sin, with some weird warrior build, a cripshot/apply ranger and some strange pve water ele build
Tbh we didnt really know what to do on the 1st run and kinda wandered round aimlessly cappin shrines and killin what came near us(well we "tried" to but usually got our ass's handed to us )
Any how were know our roles now so that is a moot point^.
I was on my 1st run barragin a shrine, and clean out the npc's and we capped it, then i got teh phone ring, so went afk for 30 secs....my team had run off to cap teh next shrine and i was been touched by a R/N so obviously i bailed out, threw down caltrops, and backed off....whilst popping him with arrows...
He never actually made it to me to touch me but never gave up trying, and i beat him down with JUST bleeding(sharpen daggers) and regular arrows and the occasional barage for fun
The responces i got from him and his team were as follows:
"take you piece of **** farmin build back to pve you noob"
"omg an assassin, you suck"
"jees whats a sin doin with a bow"
"my ranger does more damage"
" *** you, you ******* *******, im gonna **** your.....blah blah blah"
I mean omg what could i say back to that :O other than "if my "farming build sucks so bad how come you couldnt hit me, let alone hurt me?" and "your a touch ranger, im not stupid enough to let you actually touch me!"
The mentality of a lot of AB'ers really leaves a lot to be desired, why cant people jusy say GG or well done, show some class .....i know im preaching to the converted here but still, why all the agro from them...
Ive kinda lost the point of my post now.... o dear.....lol
